Longueuil, April 6th, 2025 - BrailleTAB is pleased to announce the creation of a working committee whose mandate will be to develop a braille transcription code dedicated to piano learning for beginner students.
This is a response to requests expressed by individuals wishing to learn piano using simple braille sheet music.
In this spirit, we are seeking candidates interested in joining the initiative that will be launched in the coming weeks.
The committee will consist of a maximum of six people, and we are looking for the following profiles:
• Blind musician who uses braille daily.
• Music teacher working with visually impaired students.
• Braille expert with knowledge of various existing codes.
If you meet one of these criteria and wish to be involved in this project that will have a tangible impact on the blind community, we invite you to submit your application via a letter of intent to info@brailletab.com.
BrailleTAB will provide financial compensation to committee members as a way of recognizing your commitment and involvement in this important initiative.
Ultimately, the goal is to offer braille sheet music for beginner pianists and adapted online training. Let us remember that these services are provided free of charge to the visually impaired community.
An ambitious project for the greatest benefit of visually impaired musicians.

About BrailleTAB
BrailleTAB Technology is a registered charity whose mission is to provide technological solutions and adapted services in alternative media for visually impaired musicians. BrailleTAB Technology offers to its members a free library of braille guitar sheet music and adapted guitar lessons.
Before the arrival of BrailleTAB Technology, blind guitarists did not have access to adapted braille materials for their classroom learning or leisure activities. We are proud of the work accomplished in this area.
BrailleTAB Technology is expanding its solutions and services to other musical instruments while continuing to develop its online sheet music collection and adapted online training for its members.
